Uses of Salt

• Pour mixture of  salt and hot water in kitchen sink to prevent grease from collecting in drains.
• To prevent weeds pour salt and sprinkle with water in patio crevices and in between bricks.
• Eggs boiled in salted water peel more easily.
• To prevent mold on cheese,wrap it in cloth dampened with saltwater before refrigerating.
• Blood stains can be removed by soaking the stained cloth in cold saltwater and then launder in hot water settings.
• Relieve bee-sting pain.Immediately dampen area and pack on a small pile of salt to reduce pain and swelling.
• Salt sprinkled into athletic shoes helps remove moisture and odor.
• Mix salt and vinegar and apply it to the brass,copper and silver items ;rinse and dry the objects they will again look new and shiny
• To rejuvenate the skin rub salt with olive oil all over the body before shower.This removes dead skin cells and rejuvenates the skin.
• For volume and shine spray salt water for your hair.
• Gargle warm salt water to ease a sore throat.
• Lettuce and spinach can be prepped and stored in salt water bath in your fridge.They will remain crisp and clean.Just rinse and serve.
• For crispier fired potatoes soak potatoes in salt water for several hours before use them.
• The greasiest iron pan will wash easily if you use a little salt in it ans wipe with paper.
• For cleaning refrigerators use salt and soda water to clean inside the refrigerator.This won't scratch the enamel.
• Soak new candles in a strong salt solution for a few hours,then dry them.When burned they will not drip.
• Occasionally throw a handful of salt on the flames in your fireplace.It will help loosen soot from the chimney and salt makes a bright yellow flame.
• Use salt and a damp rag to remove rust from auto bumpers,bike handles and metal;rinse thoroughly.
• Adding a pinch of salt to the milk will keep it fresh longer.
